Joseph is one of the nicest people that I met during our family's holiday in UK, and Haminados (named for his famed NY Breakfast--"huevos haminados") was our go to spot for breakfast and lunch during our stay in London. Of course, London is full of tremendous food options, but Joseph's kindness and passion for his life's work (beginning in his father's bakery in Sicily at age 13) really sets his offerings apart. Save yourself the trouble of checking out many different places because this one is the best. Follow the inviting aroma of freshly baked goods, past the restaurant's glass case opening where Joseph stands that leads to a series of tables and a remarkable garden patio full of interesting Beatles memorabilia. Joseph's best foods are those that are just baked, indicated by nifty little toothpick flags. During my visits, I tried the spinach and cheese wheel pastry (my personal favorite), banana cake, cherry pie, Emily pudding (must have), baklava, vanilla cream pastry, quiche Lorraine, NY Breakfast, Goulash and Rice, stuffed croissants, bagels with cream cheese, cucumber, and tomato (Joseph's favorite), Sicilian pizza flatbreads, pan au chocolat, almond berry pastry, cinnamon raisin danish, and delicious freshly brewed iced lattes. I cannot speak enough as to the quality and quantity of the offerings at Haminado's and you would be remiss to miss it on your visit to London. Thank you, Joseph! - Your friends from Virginia

Neat bakery, smelled really good. However, the cafe owner was very unpleasant. He kept making rude American remarks such as "Katy Perry" over and over after I repeatedly tried to talk to him. Then when I refused to buy anything he said good luck with American McDonalds.

What a delightful find this was! In London for work and always preferring local food to hotel food, I went for a walk from Paddington and found Haminados. They open early and it was quiet. Josef, the owner, greeted me warmly and offered me coffee. The baked options will overwhelm you (in a good way) and I ordered and sat down. The coffee was outstanding and led the way for a slice of quiche as I entertained myself admiring walls loaded with Beatles memorabilia. I added a bagel to the mix and just sat and enjoyed being in what felt like his home and not a hotel. I'll definitely be back. Lots of other breakfast options to try!

Pride in his product served with a smile and kind words. The quiche is, according to the shop owner, "my pride and my joy", made from the same 'famous' recipe since the early 50's and I see why.  Fresh and warm, laced with spinach and vegetables, crusted with cheese and savory herbs.
